help!!!!!!!!!!! no sound at all

my laptop sound card is: Intel 82801CA-ICH Modem -Modem(DUPLEX)
I intalled slack10 just now; however, there's no sound at all. and i searched the sticky post where no solution to my problem. Is there anyone who has the same problem? can some some give some hints?

running alsaconf is ok. But running esd generated lots of error:
