why no Chinese input method exists after I have installed ubunbu?

     How can I install rpm package in this linux system.(I have never used Debian before), I tried rpm -ivh, it seems not work. And no gcc compiler exist either, is that mean i have to construct my own C/C++ enviroment?

     who can tell me how to solve these 2 problems.Thank you!

用 apt-get，不要用 rpm
或者换用 fedora，有 rpm, 有 apt-get 也有 yum

直接使用 新立得软件包管理器 安装软件，你会发现上面的软件远不是 fedora 可以比的。

就算一定要使用 rpm ，使用 alien 将 rpm 转换为 deb ，直接安装就好了。

However, as a freshman to learn linux, I just wanna try as many kinds of linux system as possible at the first.

Emm..for example I want to install fcitx input method in ubundu, how should I use the command "apt-get"?

Is that:

           sudo apt-get install fcitx?

Nevertheless, if someone don't have internet access, how should he deal with it?

可惜就是Ubuntu被pcworld选择2005最佳Linux发行版，在DistroWatch上也是比Mandriva遥遥领先，真是为 fundawang 叫屈，为什么大家都不认同 Mandriva 比 ubuntu 好呢？

并且在 ArsTechnica 上也同样获得最佳社区和最佳发行版的奖项，为什么不是 Mandriva ？因为 ubuntu 与 Mandriva 有着本质的不同，ubuntu 的最高宗旨是乐于分享，尊重他人，软件应自由而存在。而 Mandriva 是给钱就给最好的版本，否则你自己一边玩免费的去，根本不考虑使用者。不要讲什么商业，ubuntu 难道不是商业运作的？ 不要说没有钱， 就算再没有钱，软件也不应该不自由！ 就算Redhat，他的源码还开放，还有那么多其它使用它源码来发行的免费版。对 Mandriva 最痛恨的就是 不自由！每个人都应该是平等的，我有权不享受你的服务，但软件必须是自由的。
