怎么在vi编辑中设置自动缩行

我在vi中用了set cindent shiftwidth=2设置了自动缩行，可是再打开vi编辑时又不能自动缩行啦，有没有什么方法设置一直都是自动缩行

写到~/.vimrc中

我先问下在~!vimrc中是怎么设的
我改成set smartindent
          set  shiftwidth=2
都没用
请问要写成什么才可以
