aobut fcitx in slack8.1

i followed the method to install fcitx by compile source , when run fctix ,the bar is seen but i cant get it input chinese.i modified the /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc ,add
export XMODIFIERS=@im=fcitx
fcitx &
but when i login again ,the X cant work.

how to get it work?help me ~ thanks

谢谢～我就是照着您的大作汉化的。可是输入法现在还是不行，有那个图标，可是用ctrl+space没反映，仍然输入不了中文，郁闷中……

那就搞不懂了。我已经不再用8.1了。
