有关ubuntu启动的几个问题

1.我在启动参数中加了vga=788后在启动时出现这样的错误：insmod: can't read '/lib/modules/2.6.12-9-386/initrd/vesafb.ko' no such file.  请问这个是什么错误，该如何解决？
2.如何才能加快启动速度呢？我觉得启动速度有些慢。

1. that's the file from the std ubuntu kernel, you might lost it somehow. Reinstall the kernel or just copy one from another ubuntu box should work.
2. use rcconf to stop some services.
