X Window 被包含在 Gnome 中

说Gnome桌面环境是基于X Window的。这里基于是什么意思的？是Gnome的开发者把X Window包含进去了，还是装Gnome的用户这边得依赖另外装的X Window呢？
就是说，如果自己组装GNU/Linux系统，X Window要单独在Gnome之前装么，还是装完Gnome就有了？

Gnome includes based system + X window system + gnome desktop environment.

based system？是说Kenal、Shell之类的东西么，这些好像绝对没有包含在Gnome里面吧，必须自己准备好这些才好装Gnome哎。

suggest you to learn LFS.
shell is only a bash package,based system is builded by basing binutils and gcc and glibc. these three packages is base for all of the other packages.
binutils+gcc+glibc+the other packages(based system necessary) is a based system. it's not include X window and gnome environment. X and gnome is built on a based system, and gnome depends on X window.
