求助！ESS56T-PI的驱动问题

我的MODEM是ESS56T-PI的（ES2898S+ES2818P），找了很多驱动都不能用
OS：RED HAT 7。3（2.4.18.3）
用lspci可以看到00：0B.0 Communication Contrller Ess Technology ES2898 modem <rev 02>
因为是新手对RH LINUX不熟悉，麻烦请指点的时候说具体一点，小弟先谢了。

装驱动的时候说 objcopy:command not found
在Fixscript17中有一段如下文字
GNU objcopy version 2.9.5 or later is required;
this is provided as part of the 'binary utilities'
packages such as the Debian binutils.deb

怎么看GNU objcopy的版本号？
或者怎么装objcopy？是不是UPDATE的时候要选个PACKAGE？

objcopy的问题解决了，不过。。。。。
在执行命令sh fixscript17 esscom_orig.o esscom.o后显示为
Fixscript V1.7
doing can`t trunc=can`t new=
doing handle trunc=handle new=
doing sections trunc=sections new=
doing of trunc=of new=
doing type trunc=type new=
doing 1259265 trunc=1259265 new=
doing esscom_orig.o trunc=esscom_orig.o new=
objcopy:--redefine-sym:Symbol "" is target of more than one redefinition.
然后接着执行sh install后显示为
esscom.o:unresolved symbol
esscom.o:
Hint:You are trying to load a module without a GPL compatible license
and it has unresolved symbols. Contact the module supplier for assistance,only they can help you.
/dev/essmodem
/dev/modem
看来要放弃了，还是从新编译6。0的内核后再装驱动了
从7.3--->6.0，退化啊，555555555~~~~~~~~
