如何硬盘安装5.10 ，好像5.04的安装方法不行。

put the grldr under c:,
add one line in boot.ini
C:\GRLDR="Grub for windows"

notepad c:\grub\menu.lst


title  INSTALL linux        from (hd0,0)  for most

distribution
kernel (hd0,0)/vmlinuz root=/dev/ram

ramdisk_size=10000 devfs=mount,dall
initrd (hd0,0)/initrd.gz

put the two files for install from the harddisk in

the C:

No! you must download the HD-images.
I have install the ubuntu 5.10 ,but I  can't find any fast mirror to update and intall other software ,the speed too slow!

我是在dos下用grub for dos安装的，很顺利。

1) downlaod the trub for dos/wingrub

there are quite a lot articles about install grub

put the two files for install from the harddisk in the C:


for we could not connect directly to internet,
we should kill the two processes during the apt-get configuration
alt+ctrl+F2
ps aux
kill PID  (there are two: http and apt-get -probe)



get the hd-boot file
from the               ftp.pku.edu.cn

我把ISO中的vmlinuz和网站下载的initrd。gz安装的，网站的vmlinuz好或者是ISO中的initrd。gz像有问题
