问:intel wifi link 5100的驱动

我刚安装的CENTOS 5.5,核心是2.6.18-194.11.3.el5PAE,无线网卡不能用,于是就找了个新一点的kernel编译了一下,倒是成功了,但是无线网卡还是有问题:
现在的kernel是2.6.32.12
lspci 里能看到
02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link 5100
但是ifup wlan0
wlan0 设备的 MAC 地址与预想的不符,忽略。
这是咋回事?我没辙了,兄弟们帮帮忙吧~我已经折腾了两天一宿了,也没弄好。光核心就编译了4遍,最后一遍才成功,但是无线依旧不行。

对,有这个东西,我从intel官网上下载的,但不知道怎么用~解压后一共有三个文件,iwlwifi-5000-2.ucode;LICENSE.iwlwifi-5000-ucode;README.iwlwifi-5000-ucode。我英语不过关,看不懂README里是什么意思。

跟ucode无关,你已经有了  -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 353240 09-04 01:03 iwlwifi-5000-2.ucode
ifconfig -a 里 没 wlan*  网卡没驱起来 lsmod 里 也没 iwl5000
可能你编进内核了,也可能就没把 Intel Wireless WiFi 5000AGN  选上
你再复查一遍内核,把网卡 编成 模块,也就几分钟的事
现在试一下  modprobe iwl5000 看下输出

我的回答有错
几年没用intel的卡了。刚看了下kernel 现在叫  iwlagn 了?
建议你不管3721 把intel的卡都编成模块。ifconfig -a  出现 wlan0 那就驱起来了
ucode 也有版本之别 多试几个  http://intellinuxwireless.org/?p=iwlwifi
我还经常没打开 无线硬开关,提醒下
我用的2.6.36 没 5000AGN  的字样了,你 2.6.32可能还有。再有问题 我下个 2.6.32看一下

1、如何复查内核?
2、如何把网卡编成模块?
是需要我再编译一次内核吗?
3、那个ucode是什么东西?跟驱动有什么关系?

1+2  是的  make menuconfig  或  make xconfig  进去加加渐减
至于编成模块,make menuconfig 里 空格键选到 M ,make xconfig 是 实心点
3 ucode=firmware=固件 再多我也不懂了
其实你上传 /usr/src/linux-2.6.32*/.config 就知道 网卡配没配好了
make xconfig 里 ctrl+f  iwlagn 能快速定位到intel网卡

我大概明白了,我在我的.config里搜了一下,确实没有iw的字样。
我前几次编译kernel的时候是用的make menuconfig,但是编译完成了以后总是没有办法启动,所以最后一次我就直接从网上下载了一个所谓热点config,直接用来编译了,看来还是核心编译的问题,我还要重新再搞一次。
还有一个问题,lspci和lsmod的区别是什么?

当然不一样了,lspci属于pciutils包,查的是pci总线的状态,还有连接pci总线的设备信息;相对的lsmod是module-init-tools包里的,查的是系统加载的模块的信息。
