还是显卡驱动安装问题!请北南南北兄帮一下!

Geforce 4 MX 440(64M).
按北南南北的方法二,装了最新的驱动,装的时候没有出现任何问题,我的是中文版的linux,在配置文件中,我注四掉了Load "dbe",Load "dri",Load "type1",Load "freetype",但没有添加Load "xtt".搞好这些后我重起了计算机,在文本模式下输入startx,回车后屏幕一片黑,按ctrl+alt+del后,能听到"滴"的一声,再按就没有用了,也没有任何错误的信息出现.现在不知道怎么办了,请北南南北兄抽空给我解答一下!

如果没有用simsun美化，是不能注掉那些字体相关的选项的。也不能加xtt的那一项。要细心一下。
把下面两行的之前的#号去掉

我在按照老大讲的方法安装nvidia显卡驱动时,无论如何安装不上.
驱动版本nvidia_glx-1.0-4191.sec.rpm和nvidia_kernel-1.0-41.91.src.rpm
我用root身份登陆,且权限设置最大
显示"rpm:arguments to -root(-r) must begin with /",但这个"/"插在什么地方呢?我试了好多次,都不行.

我的显示器是15‘的SyncMaster550s,可在rh9最认到的最低分辨率是1280X960，我装好nVIDIA的最新驱程，XF86Config也改好了，还顺便把分辨率改到800X600，重启后就进不去图形界面了。在文本模式下进入vi改回了分辨率，结果运行startx还是进不去啊！
高手急救！！！！！！！

运行redhat-NVIDIA-xfree86就行了~分辩率也可以调了。倒，都怪自己太性急。该多看看书再弄~：(

我装了N次的驱动了，就是不成功，而且开始时，进不了Xwindows系统，重装了两次，后来把启动时改成ID:3后，进不了Xwindows系统就把XF86Config.bak备份恢复回去。
我的系统是RH9.0-2.4-20-8,xp1800+,GF TI4200,我在RH8.0,xp1800+,GF TI4200下成功的安装过的，后来我升级系统到RH9.0-2.4-20-9了，也装了kernel-source了，安装时没有原来出现的错误，但我把  Load "dbe"， Load "dri"，Load "type1"
Load "freetype"  在这句的前面，要加一个#号 注册掉了， Driver "nvidia"在这里，要把nv改成nvidia 后，startx后，屏幕就是乱七八糟的乱码，然后就死机，下面是我安装过程中的一些问题，请高手帮忙，研究这个问题，谢谢了!

不是Driver "nv" ，而是Driver "nvidia"，呵呵.........

我的显示器是，美格796FD2的，而我在安装时，因为没有796FD2，我只有选了796FD了，为什么这里出问题了呀，但我原来在RH8.0下却可以的，懊恼中...........................
