I don't know what's your meanings exactyly.
I've mailed the source to you, it's a zipped package,named docbkx412.zip. I installed this package many times. The first time, I installed it to suffice the dependencies of GNOME2, so I used the first method I mentioned above. The following times, I installed it to transform xml into html, so I used the second method.
What kind of source do you want? In fact, in the zipped package, all the files is plain text, u can edit it freely. I edited several places to suffice the need of our translation work.

I failed  installing the docbook with ur 1st method.

Installation of DocBook

Install DocBook by running the following commands:

make install
