目前是同时加入modeset=0和nomodeset两个参数，偶尔还是会有这样的情况，只能忍了～

我用的也是HP的机子，cq515，

以前貌似偶尔遇到过和楼主类似的情况，尤其是新装机子还没配置完的时候会遇到启动时偶尔黑屏，
我从下面两个方面下手，一个是在rc.conf中添加acpi的有关内核模块，如（ac battery fan processor thermal acpi_memhotplug  button pci_slot  sbshc video  container  power_meter sbs)等；
2、是禁用KMS，现在内核貌似是默认打开的，有时候ATI的卡还是偶尔出问题。办法也就是在menu.lst中内核一行添加radeon.modeset=0 或 nomodeset  。

偶用的是官方驱动，因此还在rc.conf里禁用了radeon，

Arch很好啦，速度快，占空间小，pacman不会像aptitude一样非得aptitude install gnome gnome-dev才能编译软件，编译软件也基本不会出什么怪错误，系统配置简洁，配置文件简单易懂。倒是ubuntu让人悲剧了不少，先是su不知道密码，然后是没有inittab，然后又是grbu2找不到配置文件，好不容易找到了发现里面的代码写的跟perl差不多了，晕~
