请教在redhat 9下用modem(intel536ep)上网的问题

看来目下是死猫了。芯片的软件接口和函数是不公开的。没有这些根本不能写驱动

问题终于彻底解决,我现在就是在linux 9下上的网,很方便的喔. 特地过来高速大家一声,激动啊!!我想在windows下能用的东西,linux肯定也能用.的确这个过程让我回味...太感谢大家了.可惜原来的linux删除了,好多配置都要重来......但仍然很高兴....
我去http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/Intel/537/  下载intel-537SP-2.37.50.1.tgz版本的驱动(其他版本估计也可以,我没有都试).安装后就能正常拨号,用互联网配置向导或wvdial或kppp都行.速度也很正常.同时也适用其他linux系统或版本.用这支猫的朋友不用担心在linux下上网了,我会把整个过程进行全面总结的.

以下是查询ifconfig的信息.与windows下ipconfig一样噢.

时隔一年,小弟又遇到这种问题了,我的MODEM是金浪的Intel 5690的,芯片组是Ambient MD5690-L-A的,在REDHAT9下面用lspci认出来Intel Corp. 536EP Data Fax Modem,用scanModem查找显示跟jiarry的基本一样,显示是536EP但是却要537EP的驱程,按照scanModem里的做法去下载537EP的驱程,能编绎强制安装就出错了.

用回536EP的驱程就出现跟楼上的一样情况:
NO DIALTONE
--> No dial tone.
--> Disconnecting at Thu Jul 20 22:46:54 2006

后面听说楼上的下载intel-537SP-2.37.50.1.tgz的驱程搞定了,但楼上给的链接已经是空的了,请问intel-537SP-2.37.50.1.tgz与537EP的驱程是不是一样的.

请问大家有没有更好的解决办法.
