里边有个警告,说我没有退出X会话,这个X会话怎么关闭? 我在网上找了退出的命令(据说快捷键是alt+ctrl+backspace),结果我就退出了,要重新登录,我都是图形界面的.

我该怎么办呢?

之前我也尝试过编译内核,结果make 后,出现很多很多警告,make出现两个错误.如果继续编译内核后,我重启后,鼠标不能用了,没有声音了,启动日志出现很多错误!

make内核不是说着玩的，你英文要比较好，如果是第一次你要把每一项都看清了再选。（默认配置一定不行的）

这个错是说你要在字符界面是安装，按ctrl-alt-F1~F6进入字符界面（当然图形界面还得关）

first, do not install the driver from official intel website...it's far too old!!!
you can not compile the driver module because that stupid driver only can be compiled with the kernel without agp_gart module, it's almost impossible to do it in this wat also you don't even need to do this

second, my suggestion is you can go to dri.freedesktop.org/snapshots download the fresh new drivers, pls download common and i915 packages

作为新手我也不想编译内核,我编译一次,重装一次啊!
想编译内核,是因为看到精华贴上有个关于安装855GM驱动时候,高版本的内核和intel官方驱动不兼容.所以要下载低版本的内核编译,我编译一次完蛋一次!况且上边的提示中,说"内核模块"需要编译!

不知道为什么我进入桌面环境后,ctrl-alt-F1~F6就事黑屏啊!难道要等上好几分钟?

后来我是将启动时进入字符界面,安装时才没有警告X会话没有关的信息!

确实,官方的驱动程序是很老的,是2004年的.为什么高版本的内核不向下兼容呢?!!

编译这个内核确实出现N多警告和2个错误.

make menuconfig也是很多警告.

我去了您提供的这个网站: dri.freedesktop.org/snapshots,下载了2005年7月的驱动,不过我重启进入文本模式后,安装DRI没有问题,安装 AGPGAR还是那个错误,要我编译内核!

对我,要100%安装好Intel855驱动还真的不容易 :-(

不需要编译内核。。。谁说要编译内核来着？
先要安装common-xxxxxx
然后安装i915-xxxx
完全不需要编译内核，就是./install.sh完全傻瓜式安装，但是一定须要kenel-head...自己注意看readme
不看readme不是一个好习惯

可是这个问题如何解决呢?
Readme文件我事先看过，不过太泛了。对一些文件的说明非常简略的！

都叫你用dri的snapshots。。。。你为什么还要用官方的驱动呢？！！！！
dri的驱动不会编译agp_gart，只会编译drm和一个驱动文件

我的显卡是855GME，我准备用RH9.0
问题是：
     1.  是不是只要安装 common-xxxxxx i915-xxxx这两个文件
     2.  对于RH9.0 用那个版本比较合适 最新版对它是否支持
     3.  为什么要用i915  里面还有i810 以前我用过一些i8XX的网卡驱动  他们有什么区别
