man byborder后,看到的是byborder(3),请问括号里面的3是什么意思？

如题，我看man很多库函数括号里都有数字。

就是你可以通过man 3 byborder查看这一份手册。
就像man read得到的是shell中的read帮助文件，而如果man 2 read的话，得到的是linux中的系统调用read的帮助文件。

       2   System calls (functions provided by the kernel)
