Lenovo Thinkpad T400（ATI3470）遭遇NVIDIA驱动缺失的下场

场景：
这是我新买的计算机Lenovo Thinkpad T400，但刚刚启动后（已经出现Ubuntu的启动动画了），然后系统在几个快速的命令行闪烁下，进入了一个黑色（命令行）界面，但又不是

太像（感觉像是命令行死机？），总之画面是呆滞在黑色的背景下，因为我的Ubuntu不是放置在本机硬盘，而是放置在移动硬盘中，所以我看本机硬盘灯是不会闪烁的，但移动硬盘

又不像是电脑死机后疯狂转（摸摸就知道是不是发烫/狂转/险些崩溃等症状了）。但是因为等待变得没有目的（如果有个进度条或者百分比，哪怕是冒冒小点），因此我不确定是不

是我的Ubuntu无法配置我的新系统硬件呢？（因为以前这个Ubuntu在很多台计算机上都运行过，从未如此缓慢）。Ubuntu版本号：9.10 32bit。

解决问题：
1、我的计算机曾经在ATI以及NVIDIA的机器上都运行过。
2、在我的另一台ATI机器上，会显示一个界面提示，NVIDIA的显卡驱动无法加载或者设备不存在。
3、在IBM T400上，则不提示，直接黑屏。
所以在另一台ATI机器上（没有另一台电脑的朋友，想办法进终端吧）
4、然后将/etc/X11/xorg.conf文件里NVIDIA相关的内容注释掉即可。

我觉得Ubuntu很多配置上的细节都做得相当的不严谨。。

Installed 9.10 on my T400 last night. The 'hardware drivers' utility automatically installed ATI/AMD FGLRX driver. I encountered the same problem but there is no 'NVIDIA' things in the xorg.conf.
