can Slackware support UTF-8

(gedit:613): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
        Using the fallback 'C' locale.

'cause i have set the lang=en_US.UTF-8 & LC_CTYPE=UTF-8.

How can i do to let Slack support UTF-8?

gedit 保存的时候取中文文件名硬是在文件管理器中乱码，
而用gedit程序里面的打开文件又可以识别中文名并打开

u need to search now,i had forgoten,but i recommend u a page had discus it ,now i only know unite two files under X11 to one files,so u can get a locaable,i had use it to build chinput under slackware
,what a pity ,i had forgoten the detail

probably you need to install the i18n enabled glibc

in fact the Slackware 9's GlibC has i18n support,but it lack some locales files,so once you add this locales files to the /usr/lib/i18n & /usr/share/locale, it will work perfect.
